Frankenhöhe Nature Park
Frankenhöhe Nature Park in north Feuchtwanger Land offers a variety of hiking trails for visitors to explore. Frankenhöhe Nature Park lies in north Feuchtwanger Land. It is one of 19 nature parks in Bavaria. The concept of the nature parks is "protection through appreciation" - these conservation areas serve both local recreation and tourism and are also used for agriculture at the same time - all in the name of nature and environmental sustainability.
Frankenhöhe Nature Park stretches from Feuchtwangen to Rothenburg, Ansbach and Neustadt/Aisch and is one of the sunniest areas in southern Germany. Extreme weather fluctuations are rare. This balanced climate, which also brought state recognition to the resort of Feuchtwangen, not only contributes to the wellbeing of the people who live here, but also to that of many plants and animals. Numerous natural bays and southern slopes offer protection for a particularly large number of animal and plant species. Mountain thyme, orchids, adonis, pasque flowers and many other rare plant species thrive in abundance here.
There are a variety of hiking trails throughout the nature park. For example, the Fuchsweg and the Rehweg trails in the Feuchtwanger Land region run through the park.
